PCOP1: Keyboarding
Course Description
PCOP1: The major objectives of this course are to develop touch control of the keyboard and proper keyboarding techniques, to build basic speed and accuracy skills and to provide practice in applying those skills to production projects in the growing variety of jobs which require keyboarding skills to input data accurately and quickly.
DP1: Introduction to basic data processing concepts and their applications via lectures and laboratory activities.
PCOP2, PCOP3, PCOP4: These courses are designed to develop skills for use in word processing, database and spreadsheet applications. Course instruction will include Windows applications in Microsoft Word, Access, Excel and Powerpoint. Advanced training in computerized accounting and in document management will be made available.
OFCS2: Application of knowledge and skills to a variety of practical problems that are encountered in the business office. Areas of study include the operation of the electronic calculator, the procedures used in alphabetic, geographic, subject and numeric filing, the processing, storing and retrieving of various types of business correspondence and customer service.
BSEG1: This course is designed to strengthen fundamental English grammar and punctuation skills with a focus on various types of business correspondence. Adult Basic Skills laboratory is available to all ATC students.
ACT1: Basic fundamentals of accounting and their applications to the sole proprietorship, including the completion of a business simulation practice kit and the use of the electronic calculator. Computerized accounting is available in PCOP4.
PL1: Designed to enlighten the student about the world of work. Effective resume writing and preparation for job interviews are emphasized.
